Each September, BVT’s New Works Festival will present four staged readings; 3 plays or musicals written for adults, and 1 written specifically for children. Published Playwrights, Producers, or Agents may submit works for consideration that are:
• Full length Plays or Musicals
• Previously unproduced
• Between 1-8 characters (plays) or 1-10 characters (musicals)
If chosen for presentation, authors and/or producers must select a director and cast and rehearse the piece for performance. The team will arrive in Naples on the day of their presentation to run though the reading in the theater. The author will receive a $100 stipend, and producer will receive 40% of the ticket sales.
At the conclusion of the festival, one piece will be chosen to receive a fully produced production in the following season at BVT.
For consideration, please send scripts to Executive Artistic Director, Richard Amelius
