Dying to be Onstage?

We're holding a contest to find dead bodies for an upcoming show!

Ten area men, aged 25 – 60, will be selected to appear as the dead body in our July mystery presentation of Agatha Christie's The Unexpected Guest, a part of our 2009 summer season.

"We're looking for local 'guest stars' to play Richard Warwick, the wealthy and worldly big game hunter who is confined to a wheelchair after being mauled by a lion,” said Karin Bowersock, Bristol Valley Theater Artistic Director, “Confined, that is, until someone puts a bullet through his heart.”

Men aged 25 – 60 are invited to enter the contest to win a chance to play the role. Up to ten winners will be selected to perform one or more performance each at the Theater in Naples. Performances are July 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, or 18 at 8 p.m., and July 12, 15, 16, and 19 at 2 p.m.

“Here's your chance to step into the spotlight,” invited Bowersock, “And it couldn't be easier! No experience necessary! There are no lines to learn—after all, you're dead! With just a half hour of rehearsal right before the show you'll be ready to go--but you do have to keep from moving or sneezing while you are onstage!”

Entries should include brief essay (50 words or less) telling “Why I would die for Bristol Valley Theater,” a recent photo (snapshot is fine), contact information including phone number, and a list of which performances dates and times those entering are available to appear.

Entries should be postmarked no later than June 15, 2009 and sent to: Die for BVT, PO Box 218, Naples, NY 14512. Bristol Valley Theater administrative staff will select the top 10 essays and notify winners by phone by July 1, 2009.

For further information about the contest, contact the administrative office at 585 374 9032 Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 pm. or email kbowersock@bvtnaples.org
